Joint Protocol Training
Joint protocol training needs continue to be assessed and managed at regional level by
two groups:
▪ The Core Group - comprised of Senior Management staff from P.S.N.I. / Social
Services and N.S.P.C.C. and also
▪ The Regional Trainers' Group
The aim of this continuing regional approach is to standardise the training provided across
the province.
The training format encompasses changes due to revision of current practice and
amendments to current legislation
(Achieving Best Evidence in Criminal Proceedings (N.I.) and revised Protocol for Joint
Investigation by Social Workers
and Police Officers of Alleged and suspected cases of Child Abuse).
The following programme may be subject to change and amendment however broadly
outlines the training for
the incoming year.
Joint Protocol Basic Awareness Raising Training for Social Work staff will be provided, as
need dictates on a Trust basis.
