Application for Courses - Course Circulation
On a practical basis course circulation is achieved through course nominee
facilitators/Heads of Service in each of the participating disciplines/agencies. To ensure a
consistent and standardised approach to courses being offered the following will apply:
• Up to date information about courses will be circulated to course nominee
facilitators/Heads of Service approximately 8 weeks prior to the actual course.
• Request for nominations will reflect the level at which the course has been pitched
and will provide details on course content, target audience and number of places
available.
• Course nominee facilitators/Heads of Service will forward course information to
appropriate managers within their structure.
• As part of good practice and professional staff development it is hoped that nominees
would discuss with their manager, as part of their supervision process, the broad aims
of the course and its relevance to their remit and upon completion of the course
discuss its impact on their own professional development and future needs.
• Managers prioritise nominations having circulated information within their own
structures.
• Prioritised lists returned to Heads of Service.
• Heads of Service return prioritised Social Services Working Development & Training
Unit Course Application Form to the appropriate Course Facilitator prior to the course
closing date.
• The Course Facilitator will collate nominations, confirm places and draw up a
participant list.
