the short term and its impact
across the life cycle
Learning Objectives
Participants will
• Have increased awareness
on how to recognise the signs and
symptoms of child sexual abuse
• Have a better knowledge of
the theories and research around
child sexual abuse
• Have a better understanding
of grooming techniques used and
the effects of these on the child &
family
• Be able to recognise the
impact of secondary trauma on
ourselves
• Understand how to care for
a child who has experienced
sexual abuse and support the
family unit
