Aim
To raise awareness of the emotional and
mental health needs of children and young
people and intervention strategies for
engaging with resistance and risk
Learning Outcome
• To explore adolescent development
and the implications for young people's
mental health
• To consider issues relating to
depression, suicide, deliberate self-harm
and self-mutilation
• To explore the links between the
above and attachment theory, focusing
on adolescent attachment styles
• To consider resilience in adolescents
• To highlight strategies for engaging
with resistant and high risk young
people.
